What an exciting and fun trip!
The Menno-Hof consists of display rooms and talks giving the history of the Amish and Mennonites. Each time I hear this story when I visit the different Amish places, I learn something new. I didn't know the Amish and Mennonites were kept in dungeons and starved for pronouncing their belief in God and baptism.
Next, we went on a buggy ride. The Amish driver was a kind man who gave us the grand tour and showed us the beautiful flower and butterfly gardens they work so hard to keep beautiful.
Of course, we ate wonderful food. Butterscotch pie and corn pudding, my favorites!
The flea market had 900 booths! Amish bakery, but the rest was commercial. Very nice and got some great deals. I like Pampered Chef, and got a great flat stone for baking there. Blue Gate Hotel was clean, had a great staff, and we enjoyed the ice cream shop. I swam in their large pool, and the chlorine was just right.
I'll be giving away this Amish doll I bought from an elderly woman who makes these out of her home. She just happened to be with her daughter the day I visited the shop. Watch for the giveaway! I'll announce it here, in the newsletter and Facebook!
